FireFox icon on desktop doesn't launch app - it just keeps creating a shortcut
yesterday my email wasn't opening links and then Firefox acted strangely so I cleared the cache. (I'm on windows 11) Today when I clicked on the app icon it created a shortcut instead of launching Firefox. What is going on? I have used FireFox as my default browser for the past 15 or more years and I don't want to switch to Chrome or MS Edge.
I was able to open Firefox by going to the app under settings - but that is not how I have done it before.
Any thoughts as to what is happening?

Delete that icon
Go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox right click firefox.exe and Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
