Syncronisation

Hello, I reset my PC yesterday.

I didn't know my Firefox password anymore and clicked "Forgot password."

Then I created a new one.

Now my saved online pages and everything else are gone. So synchronization isn't working.

I have an account recovery key.

Will that work? And how?

Please help me.

Regards, Daniel

Hi Daniel, I think you needed to use the recovery key to reset your password. Did your PC reset create the following folder:

C:\Windows.old

If so, that's usually a temporary folder which gets deleted after 28 days.

Turn on viewing of hidden files and folders --

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5

-- and explore up the path to

C:\Windows.old\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

Is there data there? If so, we can suggest how to restore this to the new locations.

Hello, I received this message:

Resetting the password for the Mozilla account will delete all data from the Mozilla server, as there would be no point in keeping the data.

The data in the Sync cloud was encrypted with your Mozilla account password before it was uploaded. Without that password, the data in the cloud is unreadable.
