Yahoo Mail inbox limited to 10,000 emails.
I have over 293K inbox emails. I recently received the notice from Yahoo that storage is being reduced to 20 GB. I would like to use Thunderbird to download all of my emails. However it i is showing only 10,000 inbox emails. What do I need to do such that all of my Yahoo Mailinbox emails are displayed in Thunderbird?

You might be able to download all messages by adding export. to the IMAP server name (imap.mail.yahoo.com):

or, download the mail box in a way that is similar to Google Takeout:

MAYBE SOLVED. Here is the plan. Perplexity AI has a thorough explanation for this. It informs me that Yahoo limits IMAP access to 10,000 emails/folder. To download all of the emails it suggests making folders containing up to 10,000 emails each until all inbox emails are in these folders. Then IMAP protocol can download them all. That's a pretty big task with over 300K emails to be relegating into folders.
However POP protocol accesses all inbox emails but not folders. Thunderbird defaults to leaving the emails on the server when downloading by POP protocol as it does with IMAP.
I've now set up both IMAP and POP protocols to get them all without having to move them from one folder to another.
It's going to take a day or two to download them all.
I will report back on outcome. Wish me luck!!
Thank you sfhowes for your reply. I'm also going to see how that works as well. I just wanted to report this that I just found now.
