It is the 'Search Bar' function on your Browser! It's an absolute nuisance to use. When you begin typing a question into the search bar it immediately (as you all know) diverts to the Address bar in the Browser. Your eyes have to divert your focus and attention every single time you use the Search Bar making the process fatiguing, exacerbated by having to put up with the smaller font used in the address bar. Google, EDGE and Opera, Doesn't use this method only Firefox. It's a real pain and the is the sole reason I will never make 'Fox' my default Browser.

To change this behavior it's enough to enter about:config in the address bar and switch browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false.
