After Update - restoring password history now gone
Updated a month ago and discovered all of my password stored history in FF is gone.....
I have seen that this happened to others but despite efforts, unable to restore all my passwords after the update despite that it says this will not happen.
I have followed the steps of profile, sync but nothing.
Afraid to ever update again and never had this issue in many years of using ff.

This depends on how you did the update of Firefox whether or not you did a new update or upgrade to the profile and what methods was used for the update here.

Hi Dropa, My update was made when the popup box asked "if I wanted to download the latest version", it also said this would not impack bookmarks, history and passwords.
I cannot follow your instructons, I have been to the About Profiles and followed the directions for restoring and syncing however, nothing happened.
I need better step by step and Firefox should be helping with that since its their update that caused the change.

You can copy logins. json and key4. db with Firefox closed to the current profile folder to recover the logins. You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page
