I much prefer Firefox to Chrome and others but whenever I use the google search function in the search bar, ALL the results seem to be USA-based. 100% useless for me, an English-speaking European living between France and England. What do I need to do to my Firefox browser to tell it once and for all that I am not American and nor am I interested in American content?!? TIA KB

You can set the language and region on the Google Search Settings page.

You need to create a cookie allow exception for https://google.com to keep the Google cookies to keep your Google search preferences. Make sure you keep the "Site settings" as that include exceptions,

Hi both and thanks for the suggestions.

@Dropa the location settings in my Windows 10 OS are all set to automatic and returning the correct location of France which is where I am. I don't use a VPN or proxy server for general online work.

@Cor-el thanks but I don;t understand your tip. I don't want to stop seeing search results from France (or Europe for that matter), I just want to stop Google sending me mountains of irrelevant crap from the USA. If I change the location settings on the page you suggested to the United Kingdom, I stop seeing results from France.

Don't understand why this is so hard as google continually manages to find me geographically with every other service in it's arsenal!

Thanks for any further thoughts guys KB
