So I just did a "Save Page as: Web page, complete." It worked! Fine. My question is this: Is this saved Web page cached (if that's the right word)? In other words, if the Web page I saved is ever taken down/removed or if the website closes, will I still have access to the SAVED Web page? Just to clarify, I know how to save URLs (by dragging them to a drop-down folder that I've created). But I'm talking about a saved scrollable Web page that works even if the website of origin later takes down the page. Thanks for your help. Barry

Best is always to open a saved page in Firefox in offline mode to confirm that the page is saved properly and doesn't need to retrieve data from internet possibly via XHR requests done by JavaScript or (background) images loaded via CSS files that weren't saved.

Would you mind giving me a step-by-step process on how to save a Web page that stays saved even after the original "live" page is taken down? I'm guessing it entails no more than three or four steps. Thanks.

Hi Barry, every page is different, so it's not possible to give a foolproof method for a saved page that is guaranteed to work offline. What cor-el suggested is testing the page after saving to see whether it actually works offline (you can switch Firefox to offline mode -- on Windows, this is on the File menu or under menu button > Web Developer).

Depending on your needs, you may want to convert the page to PDF to lock in its current appearance.
