Ironically around April 1, Microsoft outlook had an outage in my area. apparently outlook is up again but i cannot sign in with firefox 50.0.2. but can sign in with IE and Chrome. the outlook opening window appears and the status bar moves slowly until it gets to the very end and does not complete. i tried to leave the login open for several minutes to see if it ever logs in - doesn't i cleaned history and removed cookies - no luck i tried and earlier version of firefox - no luck i accessed via google instead of "bookmark" - still attempted to log in but status bar gets almost to end and stops and never completes log in. i did a system restore on my computer to an earlier time - still will not sign in. i tried changing security.ssl.enable.oscp.stapling to false (as suggested in help) - no effect Something happened after microsoft fixed whatever issue they had any suggestion would be appreciated

Note that using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because only white-listed files are restored.

  • always be cautious with using System Restore.
  • you may lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files
  • you may need to reinstall affected software

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and Cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

H, : Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla from with in Firefox before posting a question. This helps us help you. I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

give this a try since I have no info : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Success I tried the last solution...using safe mode it appears the part about going into history and selecting "forget info about this site worked. Note: I had a little problem finding where you mean this so will add this direction: select "history from menu bar select "show all history" - 1st item right click on file associated with outlook i.e. "sign in" or "login live.com/signin select last item "forget about his site"

i restarted firefox in normal mode and it works fine

thanks so much, i really really appreciate it as i hate using IE or Chrome

hi been able to sign into outlook with no problems for last ~ 9 days, today signed in first thing no problem and then went to sign in again and got the same problem as above. I went into safe mode and "forget about this site" and logged in sucessfully.

There must be a bug somewhere with outlook and firefox hope the fix continues although it is annoying

not sure if someone should/can look into what is causing this

thanks bob
