I can't get rid of "Recommended by Pocket" when I open a new tab, how do I do it. I've tried!!

When I open a new tab, I get "Recommended by Pocket" items. I changed "extensions.pocket.enabled" to false. I restarted firefox and I still get "Recommended by Pocket" items when I open a new tab. I've google searched and you said "Click the New Tab Preferences gear icon at the top right corner of your New Tab Page 

  *     Uncheck Recommended by Pocket".  I can't find a gear icon.

How do I get rid of "Recommended by Pocket" items. I want to see the sites I've used like in the older firefox.
