I've lost the little icon at the top of the page that lets me know if a page is safe or not. How can I get it back?

Next to the "Start a conversation" icon was an icon that turned green for safe pages, said "unknown" if no info on the page's safety and red if the page might cause problems for my computer. I accidentally deleted it and now I want it back. How can I do that?

Hi Tessiewebb, that sounds like a feature that would have been provided by an add-on.

I notice in your extensions list that you have the WOT extension and it is disabled. WOT was removed from the Mozilla Add-ons site due to poor privacy practices (see: http://www.ghacks.net/2016/11/05/mozilla-and-google-remove-wot-extens...) but you might still be able to re-enable the extension on the Add-ons page if you trust them.

You can view, disable/enable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then check the list on the right side: disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom. If an extension can't be enabled (no Enable button or it's grayed) click the More link for more information about the problem.
