Firefox is not working well with Yahoo. Ready to bail

more options

For the past week or so, Yahoo has not been working well. Today I got help from them, which did not solve the problem at all. Yahoo with Safari is working fine. I tried contacting Firefox, but it takes FOREVER to get to this point to even send a message to you. I could not sign in under my previous password. You said you had sent an e-mail to my e-mail address. It is not showing up. I think I will be using Safari now. I just copied over my bookmarks and passwords. Hate to go, but this is ridiculous.

Hi, sorry you are having problems, can you explain why its taking so long to get to this point? What is happening in Yahoo that is causing problems? Are you up to date with FF? If you can give as much information as possible I can try to see if I have similar problems when I go to Yahoo. Is it the site in general, or the e-mail client? I know e-mail can be a bit slow, mine is Yahoo. Anything extra you can think of to help us help you.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and remove cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: 3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Nothing people suggested helped, UNTIL I tried the Refresh Firefox option. That did the trick. I ran across this in the Safe Mode link above. Thank you for your help! Diane
