Is there a way to have the download window not open when downloading attachments?
Every time I download an attachment, the downloads window opens and it slows down the client. Is there a way to download the attachments, without having the download window open all the time?

No it does not slow down anything, your anti virus scanning on the other hand is probably the real reason for the slowdown.

I do not run anti virus, because I am running on Linux Mint 17.1. Cinnamon desktop
