I do not notice problems in Firefox 10.0.2 on Ubuntu 11.10

Does this sort of problem only occur on Firefox, and not any other scrollable window.

Just thought I would add a comment as it may help in narrowing down where the problem occurs.

I am not at the moment going to change my installations to test this, - I do not have the available time at the moment - so my comments are rather limited.

If I understand you correctly the problem is only seen on the Beta of Firefox 11 not on Firefox 10.0.2 That in itself tends to make the subject off topic as a support question. It is still an important question and it is better imho to address this now rather than in a few weeks time.

There is also the possibility is Linux specific.

Someone else may be able to reply, otherwise I suggest you try Ubuntu forums and mozillazine forums.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
