Hello,

Here is how to restore all the info : Restore bookmarks : Click the Menu button -> Bookmarks -> Manage bookmarks (or press Ctrl+Shift+O). Click Import and Backup and select Restore. Choose a date from the automatic backups. (try to find a date before it all got lost)

Alternative bookmark backup : (more difficult) go to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ (type win + r then paste this) find the bookmarkbackups folder, then find .jsonlz4 files and replace accordingly.

Restore passwords : (windows) go to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ (type win + r then paste this) find logins.json and key4.db and copy and paste it into your current profile (save a copy of the broken ones somewhere else and replace it with the backup)

No, I actually tried that earlier. It does not work. But reference a bookmark folder. Not sure where to find. I really need to find a way to accomplish this. Thanks for any further info

ok, found the bookmark back ups folder. In in separate search found recovery,jsonlz4 files. But a bunch files showing up all dated 4-11 when upgrade installed including upgrade jsonlz4 file. I don't know how to proceed now & worry if I close windows won't find this stuff again.

I've been dealing with this ever since this AI crap was introduced. I actually started using Edge and along with that I HAD to create a Microsoft account to do so. I went back to Firefox imported the Bookmarks and Passwords only to find out that Microsoft was managing them too.

I think that it would be MUCH easier for the Mozilla team to take a proactive look at putting an end to this issue. Program the install to create a Bookmarks, Password, Setting and Profile folder to keep all this data to reference at startup, logged in or not, and be there in a backup if a system crash occurs. Make it simple too. Put it in the Documents folder and once it is saved, make the program reference it. Don't bury it where end users have to take a crash course in coding just to use what should already be there when they need it. But, until then I guess I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed that I will be able to restore them from the Bookmark manager. By the way, I"m a 68 year old disabled retiree that has been battling Lymphoma for the last 13 1/2 years. All those Chemo's have my memory in strangle hold. HELP PLEASE!
