Recently random boxes (black, grey or white) started appearing when highlighting text. The problem started occurring after the most recent Windows 11 update (2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)).

Checked and clean. I only see the issue on FireFox. Chrome and Edge don't exhibit the same behaviour.

Update your graphics drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's site, failing that you may need to disable hardware acceleration.
