Thunderbird locked up. Followed forum advice to reload Thunderbird. Identified legacy abook.sqlite and history.sqlite files but these will not import to reloaded Thunderbird. Confirmed these files are not read only. Any advice much appreciated..

I asked this question on Google and the AI answer although sounding logical and easy did not work.

I have a number of saved emails that I would like to add to my local folders. Any help will be appreciated.

My "Bulk Mail" folder is not where it belongs, it is attached to a sub folder of a personal folder. I would like to get it move back to it's original location, or under trash, but all attempts have failed. Than you.

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

I spent several hours yesterday and today moving all my Gmail messages to my Yahoo account in Thunderbird on Windows 11 25H2 Home in the United States.

I expected my emails to appear in my account when I logged into the Yahoo Mail site. Instead, my account has no messages at all.

How can I correct this? I don't want to lose all my emails, I want them in Yahoo instead.

NOTE: Please change my email address to JAL1862@yahoo. I am closing my Gmail account by the end of the day on September 30.

I have a completely vanilla install of TB fully up to date as of this writing [it is version = 156.0.1 (aarch64) and I checked for updates], no extensions, no proxy, on a new OSX 27.0 (Golden Gate) computer and even when idling it is using substantial resources. The only thing even remotely non-basic is their is the Proton Mail Bridge to connect to Proton Mail for one of the linked email accounts, but that is its own little program with its own threads and takes almost no system resources even when sending or receiving mail (which is not happening currently.) Look at the attached screen shot.

In the screen shot I have left Thunderbird to idle for about an hour. No new mail in that time and other then clicking on or off the window to bring it to the fore I have not interacted with the program at all myself. Meanwhile Thunderbird and its Thunderbird GPU Helper are using substantial amounts of the CPU and GPU, have a combine total of 86 threads (more then any two other things running except the kernal tasks) and are hogging ram (not depicted).

Meanwhile among a few other applications (Apple Music, OfficeLibre, etc...) I also have Brave Browser opened in the background running with two windows and a total of 8 tabs wherein Brave is actively downloading GB of data from MEGA as well as performing other admittedly lighter tasks. Even when doing all this, Brave barely registers on computer resources compared to Thunderbird and Thunderbird GPU Helper when they are just idling.

Is this all proton mail's fault with the Proton Mail Bridge? If not is there anything I can do to quell the hunger for computer resources of this voracious beast of an email client that is TB and uses resources as if it were a video game even when idling?

Thunderbird won't download messages from the email account that we have at . It was working perfectly last week, but starting Friday it will start to download the messages, but never does. Eventually, it displays the following error: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. Is there a way to update existing calendar appointments by using an updated ics-file? We have appointments that are placed in the Calendar of Thunderbird, and there need to be modifications made over time. These appointments can be in the past, present, or in the future.

When trying to import a modified file, by just updating 'DESCRIPTION', and using the same ID, Thunderbird throws the error of: mail.import: : ID already exists for addItem

Hi, hoping someone could help as I am struggling to get my information back. I am using Ubuntu Cinnamon.

Thunderbird crashed last night, wouldn't work, tried safe mode. Nothing fixed it. It hung when opening up and after 30 seconds said force quit. So I was forced to reinstall. I did a manual backup but not using the inbuilt tool as I couldn't get into Thunderbird. I just copied the data from username/.thunderbird

After spending a long time uninstalling. Because it reached 78% and then crashed on uninstall. Eventually after reading various pages on the internet I managed to reinstall from the Ubuntu software manager using the latest snap version. (Which I am not sure was what was actually installed previously).

However having used thunderbird for nearly 20 years or so. I have a username/.thunderbird folder. And when I moved to this platform, I have a snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird folder.

I installed this new distro 2 years ago, and remember having issues getting my data into the system under Snap. But eventually got it to work somehow back then.

However since reinstalling I cannot see the last 2 years of emails, archives or data. It has launched into a 2 year old profile. I appear to have lost most of the emails from the archive folders (but kept the folders) removed all of the personal folders but then dumped all those emails into my inbox. Giving me 6500 emails that were in various personal folders. (I don't get 6500 emails in a year so don't know what has happened.) It has even changed all of the new dates to the US format, so nothing makes any sense.

I now have 2 Thunderbird profiles, over 12GB in size. And have apparently lost 2 years of my life. But reading support pages, suggests I should be okay because thunderbird doesn't delete data when you reinstall?

I have looked through various other threads which talk about pointing it at the profiles and mail boxes, however nothing works.

Any help much needed.

As a twelve or more years user of Thunderbird, I find it to be okay most of the time. I hate the spam folder that does not learn and I hate threads.

Today all of a sudden, I cannot save photos sent from my iPhone as jpg. I have always right clicked and a menu has appeared. Today, the right click just zooms in which I never want to do when I am trying to save.

I tried searchig online first before coming here. Apple is claiming that Thunderbird developers made a mistake and that is why the right click is not working. AI had me try a bunch of different techniques none of which worked.

When I do save after much effort, the "photo" in my Animals folder appears as the Thunderbird logo instead of the real item itself. The other weird thing is that my folders also do NOT show up where they should when I am trying to save. The menu doesn't give me all the folders as it always has. Instead it just say All Files which is not adequate.

Thunderbird update to 156.0.1. After 2 days, it stopped accessing my email account. Get Messages does does not bring up password screen. Have confirmed that server settings are correct per ISP requirements. Thunderbird loads OK. Can see and access my previously downloaded emails. However, can NOT access email server for any new emails. No idea what to do or where to go. As is, Thunderbird is a useless program.

how much space can i add to Thunderbird if i want to send a video or file without adding a n app r to do it. Where it says add files how much can iput thee can i go like 500 or more

Outlook.com quite frequently move 2FA emails to my "Junk eMail" folder on the server, so after not finding it in my Inbox, I'm forced to log on to Outlook.com to check my Junk eMail folder.

How can I force Thunderbird to pull emails from the Junk eMail folder on the server?
