Since the last big update, my firefox seems to be crashing multiple times. Last time so bad, I had to reboot the computer to get back in.

Windows last report was: "Windows has detected missing memory. The following programs use most virtual memory: plugin-container.exe (1560) has consumed 28743843840 byte, firefox.exe (5968) has consumed 394489856 bytes, and firefox.exe (4492) has consumed 381538304 bytes.

Please try and update your Video Card Drivers for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 driverDate: 10-21-2016 https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760

Did the update to 57.0.1 fix anything ? If not try : Please : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles then https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Thanks for input, ran the tests as suggested and nothing. Also updated.

It seems to be an issue when i have multiple tabs open. Before I was able to have atleast 4-5 somtimes more open, without any performance issues at all. However after the update "faster firefox", not sure which version.. It changed. I open 3 tabs and it starts lagging..

Prosessors in taskmanager has 5 instances running of firefox. I did some googling, and aparently that's normal..

More than one process is normal for the current Firefox. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/22/multi-process-firefox/

Multi-process Firefox is codenamed "e10s". https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/multiprocess

If you suspect this is causing problems, it can be disabled.

Ok, I will try that. Cheers ;)

As mentioned ,300+ megs is usual for 1st process then lowers for each one after. Mine can reach up to 600+ with tabs open. Turning off uBlock Origin saves 20megs in ram so also depends on the number of Extensions you have running. If not needing those all the time can disable till you are doing that project that requires them.

This is a badly named URL but it does explain things, https://www.howtogeek.com/334594/stop-complaining-that-your-browser-uses-lots-of-ram-its-a-good-thing/
