When I send emails (using Firefox 26.0 browser) that contain an apostrophe in the text every apostrophe contained in the text is converted to the characters &#39. The converted characters then remain in the mail text from that point forward. I noticed Firefox says it automatically updates itself. Is 26.0 the latest version and does that version have anything to do with my problem?

Is this happening in HTML type emails or in plain text type mails?

If it is an HTML type file then is should be rendered as the apostrophe (') and not show the entity code ('), so you may have to switch to HTML mode.
