I have used Dell support for my notebook is a work notebook from Dell with a Dell image on it. However this problem just started happening and I have no problems for the 2 plus years I have been using this notebook. It seems to have been happening over the past few months. It seems to always stop responding to applications like Facebook, Netflix, and even the little pop ups for standard downloads that you have to click "Save File" to continue. I use dual monitors and I have to click away from the web browser and then click back (like alt-tabbing) then rapidly click on the action buttons for them to respond. Action buttons like the close, min/maximizing window, and minimizing. Also things like the full screen button once a movie (Netflix is the one I have confirmed is affected).

Also my Starcraft II wont load now because it opens up a small window that you must click the start button to load the game. Everything is unclickable when it pops up. I tried using internet explorer and so far I am not having any of those glitches. Though outside of web browsers, my game SC II still doesn't recognize clicks. I have spoken with Dell tech support, Windows tech support, Blizzard's (my game) tech support. They suggested updating drivers, adobe, flash, and also stated that the game menu does leverage some flash applications. Everything has been updated correctly to my knowledge... I am pretty sure I eventually even uninstalled all old flash and adobe plugins and then reinstalled the current ones because I heard they could overlap. I have no idea what else to do guys but all assumptions lead to it being perhaps with this new fire fox and the new plug in for ... DRM? Or that new silverlight flash? I have no idea. I even just reset my firefox plugins to see if it worked, nope.

I was hoping to get a live agent to diagnose my computer live but it seem this is the only source of assistance. Any ideas team?

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.
