Today May 1, I noticed that any website that shows a recaptcha checkbox, including the google recaptcha demo (https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api2/demo) only shows an infinite spinner in firefox v125.0.3. I've tried the same sites in chrome and edge and the recaptcha works fine. In FF, I have cleared my cache, disabled tracking protection, disabled anti-virus and tried troubleshooting mode - still get the infinite spinner. Last week, I had no problems with recaptcha.

Until yesterday everything was fine. I was able to complete recaptcha. But when I tried searching something today, I couldn't do it because of the recaptcha. It was stuck on infinite loading. Every website I visited the problem was there. I tried fixing it from the tips I found in the forum here but nothing seems to work. I was frustrated. Then I tried Brave browser and it was working. Please help me fix this problem. Thank you.

Hi, I have been using firefox for many years and never showed me an UAC popup requiring permissions to update firefox as soon as i clicked the firefox icon in the taskbar. Today suddenly required it. I am administrator in windows 10, and have automatic updates enabled as always. I am using 125.0.3 (64-bit) version. This could be a bug or a virus? i am worried that could have given permission to a virus to install something else when i pressed the firefox icon.

I'm not sure when it happened, but somewhere along the line, Firefox stopped showing on-hover tooltips on unfocused windows. Clicking into the Firefox window again can disrupt what I'm doing in another window, however. For example trying to hover on the Firefox window with my mouse cursor, and type the text of the tooltip into a different window, while leaving the tooltip visible. Wrecks that idea!

I guess I assumed it'd be a temporary issue, that'd get resolved in a later update, without having to say anything about it, and I was wrong about that.

Any idea what's up, and how to get the tooltips to work as I would like them to?

No longer able to copy or paste text on Firefox with Windows 10. Copy and Paste are greyed out in the right click menu after selecting text. Using CTRL-C, V or P does nothing at all. Still works fine in other browsers. What has Firefox broken again this time?

Hi and thanks for your help. I was playing around with my DMARC settings for my new site and was looking around at who was hosting my WordPress domain for http://ibizignite.com, and Google directed me to GoDaddy. That was wrong. However, in my fooling around, somehow GoDaddy and this associate Westechnologies keeps popping up when I open up my browser after booting up my computer, and I cannot get rid of it. I don't know where to find it, because there is no associated extension anywhere in my extension list.

I tried to use another add-on to block it, and it does, but the darn site keeps appearing every startup after a fresh boot, and neither Westechnologies not GoDaddy appear anywhere in my Zone Map or anywhere else in my registry. Can anyone help me get rid of it please?

BEFORE ANYONE ANSWERS THIS PLEASE STOP AND THINK. I have been using this browser since Netscape. I have been "managing" bookmarks for years and years but I have NEVER found a SOLUTION to managing bookmarks in a SIMPLE, USEFUL way. I have wasted hours and hours on this site looking for answers to the ongoing difficulty that EVERYONE has dealing with the BROWSER WARS imperative that bookmarks can be imported and therefore, perpetually duplicated in an infinite array of browser upgrades and OS installations over the YEARS AND YEARS. For those of us who have managed to ERR on the side of caution and always opt to live with the effects of this rather than risk LOSING the good data nested within, I implore Mozilla to THINK LONG AND HARD on developing a solution to this ONGOING PROBLEM WITH BROWSER BOOKMARKS MANAGEMENT OVERALL. Oh sure, there are hundreds of plugins that ultimately suck up the memory for partial solutions to the PROBLEM that is caused by each new installation of Firefox or other browser in which past bookmarks are imported and ultimately duplicated ad infinitum. I don't need to know all the things that are wrong with Microsoft and how developers or users create the problem, I need a SOLUTION.

Will Mozilla please be the FIRST BROWSER TO SOLVE THE DE-SHITIFICATION OF BOOKMARKS no matter how poorly mismanaged and duplicated they were in past iterations?

The more time I spend on this HELP site looking for answers, the clearer it becomes that this is a problem for DEVELOPERS to solve because none of the USERS can figure out the answers. So, BEFORE you tell me ANYTHING, SHOW ME THE MOZILLA FEATURE THAT SOLVES BOOKMARKS MANAGEMENT THOROUGHLY AND SIMPLY, because, so far, that clearly does not exist.

For years, I have used print to pdf in Firefox to generate pdf files of long web pages. It always worked. But lately, I noticed that huge numbers of blank pages are inserted in the pdf file, seemingly at random. I looked at the HTML source, and could not see anything that obviously triggers the blank pages. For example, a web page that ought to print to about 35 pages generates a file of more than 600 pages, with most of them blank.

I can use Microsoft Edge as an alternative, but pdf files from that browser strip out all the color, and are nevertheless super huge, about ten times larger than the ones from Firefox. E.g. the file mentioned above, about 35 pages, would be about 1.3 MB from firefox, and 12 MB from Edge. So getting the file from Firefox would be nice.

Is there a reason why print to pdf is behaving in this strange way, and anything I can do about it?

For a few weeks now, FIrefox will not play DRM content video on this computer. I have tried all the suggested solutions and none have worked. Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the problem remains. I am very frustrated with this problem and am ready to get rid of Firefox permanently on ALL our computers unless this can be fixed.

New computer, new Firefox install. Old computer has the Library Icon in the upper right corner when the browser opens. I imported my bookmarks, but can't figure out how to get the Library Icon positioned.

I started getting this message today - "this page is slowing down firefox. To speed up your browser stop this page" How can I fix it other than to start using Safari.

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? I can login from other web browsers, but not Firefox. What's going on?

In the last couple of days I've been unable to login to my virginmedia accounts using firefox, all other browers work fine, I can enter details no trouble but as soon as I press the blue button on their page nothing happens, cleared cookies and data for virgin but didnt help.

Your instructions under "help" say to click on "Firefox" and click on "preferences". When I click on Firefox the menu does NOT have "Preferences" in it. What's up with that?? And how do I clear the cache and cookies?
