I use Firefox for many years, no problems. But recently I got fake websites with www.maccabi4u.co.il and PayPal. What is wrong? I downloaded Chrome and it does not happen.

Every time I open Firefox, as well as my StartPage Home page, an additional "Thank You For Loving Firefox" tab opens, and it does so in preference to my home page. How do I remove this "bonus feature"? In addition, an additional "Firefox View" button appears to the left of my home page tab, which I would also prefer not to be obliged to remove each time. Can I also disable this feature? OS is Linux Mint, desktop computer, with 2 TB SSD, Quad core processor, 16 Gb RAM.

I have installed two dictionaries, "English (United Kingdom)", and "French". However, when I go to check a spelling, (right click/Languages over the suspect word), I am offered a third dictionary choice, "English (United States), which I do not want. I have removed the US dictionary and even the language pack but the menu item persists. I can find no way to get rid of it.

I recently went to use my card to buy something off ebay, my card is probably in the depths of my room, so i went to check firefox, it shows the last 4 digits of my card, showing that it did save it, but i cannot access it, and i cannot use the number on the card? I would really like to retain it, can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

First came the Linux upgrade and with it the enforced new Firefox version. The new Firefox appeared "raw" with none of my previous settings. I am having trouble filling in the Firefox toolbar and recovering things like "most visited" sites listing and many others. There must be a common sense limit to the "happy developers'" ideas.

My platform is Debian 11.6: My FireFox install is 102.10.0esr (64-bit)

I was assisting my wife in making an appointment at the US Embassy in Manila via the US Embassy website. It all worked correctly *until* I chose the appointment day and time and clicked to continue. Rather than confirm the appointment, it told me I needed an up-to-date browser that supported 128 bit encryption. Now I know FireFox does support that. The screen looked like it thought I was using Netscape!

I switched to Chrome (much to my annoyance) and the website worked. This is not the first time I have found that I have to abandon FireFox to do something when using it on Linux. I haven't been on Windows for a while, but I don't remember this problem on that platform. This is a real problem. Please fix it. There is no reason why a website should think FireFox is Netscape.

A certain website (flixbus.com) is getting pinned on my firefox automatically. I have unpinned it several times but after few seconds, it gets pinned again. It's driving me nuts. I even cleared all my cookies but it didn't help.

Every time I use Google Meet, Firefox show me a tiny orange controller over al my desktops in Fedora Linux. It is a bit annoying an distracting. Maybe could be great this icons appear in the os panel in linux.

Everytime I try to access myAir.resmed.com I get a blank screen. When I do it with google chrome it works. Something set wrong in settings but can't find it.

I want to switch off (cancel) password save for one website. I have followed the recommended procedure and re-started Firefox, but it still saves the password after I do that. This is one set of instructions I tried following, without success:

It is very frustrating that old topics are locked. They pop-up in search but then they can't be updated when they are outdated and are forever noise in the Internet.

It is incorrect. Now it is possible to revert to the previous useful behavior from `about:config` -> `browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir`

But I can't update neither the support thread, nor the reddit thread because both are locked. And I can't save other users from half an hour search.

I understand that many users tend to reuse threads incorrectly. But this is not much if at all harder to moderate than low quality new threads. It will be much more useful to allow editing old threads. Even if the new comment requires a moderator approval.

For example I try to post a comment, it warns me that this is an old thread and if I'm not adding an update because of product improvements, I should ask a new question. And that a moderator should approve my post.

Only then it adds to some moderator queue.

I think it is apparent from other forums and sites like the stackexchange bunch that editing old questions is often very valuable.

I'm willing to debug an older release of Firefox (ver. 98.0). In order to do that, since I don't want to compile, I wanted to download the debug symbols from Mozilla's symbol server. I followed the documentation provided about this service but I still can't make the server give me something else than 404 Not Found.

From what I understood, I tried fetching symbols using this URL : https://symbols.mozilla.org/firefox/firefox-98.0-Linux-20220304153049-linux64-mozilla-release-symbols.txt

But the file doesn't exist. The /firefox sub-directory doesn't exist either.

How do I properly use this service ? Thank you for your time,

Firefox supports Websockets, which allows servers to push arbitrary data to the client, instead of having to rely on polling methods via HTTP and JS. Whilst solving one problem, it creates another. I do not like the idea that any website can just ask Firefox to make a persistent WS connection without my consent. The same is true for service workers, but (unlike websockets) i'm not at all interested in using those. Luckily there's a configuration option to disable support for websockets, network.websocket.enabled, wich is exactly what i've done.

Is there a way to selectively allow websockets, based on IP or domain? If not, why isn't there one? Am i really the lone outsider who's concerned about security?

Hi there! I installed Firefox on a new computer, set up my sync account and don't have (or see) all my passwords.

I had almost 300 passwords, now I have 60~ passwords on my new PC.

I've been using firefox as my main browser and I've created a account and using it all the time for syncing the settings, bookmarks, logins, extensions etc.

BUT due to some unwanted (really irritating) search suggestion were being shown to me by firefox, I had to uninstall firefox from my system.

• • Throughout the process, I'd kept syncing ON always!!

But when I installed firefox again and after loggedin, I'm syncing everything but this is restoring (syncing) very old data which doesn't have my latest bookmarks, extenstions & saved logins!!

How DO I get my all data???

I would like to enable picture-in-picture without constantly having a popup for it anytime my cursor goes onto the video screen. You could just put a button somewhere out of the way. It's so annoying I have to just disable it, and that's not right. Nobody needs popups of any kind for anything ever. It's the same as an ad.
