I've been experiencing this problem since Firefox 18 and now that I have Firefox 20, it's still happening. I've done all the recommended things on the forum and checked around the net for possible fixes, nothings worked.

I've done the create new profile, malware check, check add-on's for updates and updated them to the latest updates, enabled/disabled add-on's/themes, etc. Nothings worked. Is there anyone out there with a fix? Not the stuff I have already mentioned or other stuff that's on the forum or already asked questions, those don't work. If not, I guess it'll be time to switch to chrome or something, cause this is a pain and to be frank, it just isn't worth that stress. I've had Firefox since Firefox 1, it'll be a shame to have to switch, but if no one knows how to fix it, then I will.

No, there was no malware was what I was saying, my systems clean, it was Firefox.

Ah id advise you write a bugzilla bug, also link this support thread to tell them you have done everything.

I was having a stalling issue, as well, and had tried a few restarts without any improvement. I opened the "add-ons" screen and ended up disabling the Skype add-on. I restarted and things seem to be running smoothly since then.

I don't use the Skype add-on because I don't use Skype, so I can't say it was the same problem I'm experiencing. Since this started happening, I've went between bare-bones to using the add-on's that I usually do, it was freezing/lagging either way. In addition, I was using a few of those add-on's for a while with no problem, like I've said, this started with version 17/18, not a add-on update. I don't think it's the add-on's that are the problem, for me anyway. I can't say that it isn't what was your's or others.

People using the Skype add-on should try turning it off it see if it'll help you.

How do you do the Bugzilla report again Waka_Flocka_Flame? I usually send the report whenever Firefox crashes because it can't recover from the program freeze.
