What do mean by "ORIGINAL FORMAT"?

JSON backups can still be restored - a bookmarks.HTML export can still be imported - and places.sqlite is the same as it was in Firefox 3.0

If you install Firefox 10.0, it will use your Firefox 3 Profile.

'Thank you for your offer to help me. Using v.3 I have an icon on my desktop that when I click on, a window will come up that contains all of my bookmarks. I cannot find a way to have this happen when I use v.10. I've tried copying a bookmark file and pasting it in to my desktop with no success. I'm 83 years old and when it comes to computers I'm not the brightest light in the ballpark. So please have patience with me.  :>))

I don't understand what you mean about "JSON" and "sqlite". I've tried to import my bookmarks in every way I know how, including copying and pasting without success.

Sorry, without seeing an image of what you are talking about - "Using v.3 I have an icon on my desktop that when I click on, a window will come up that contains all of my bookmarks" - I have no idea what you're referring to. Maybe bookmarks on your homepage??

I can understand that you can't see what I'm talking about without being able to see my screen. Just FYI, I just installed Chrome and using that I have the chance to see all of my bookmarks just as they are available in Firefox 3. Earlier you said that if I upgraded to Firefox 10 everything that I had in v.3 would be incorporated. The problem is that my bookmarks were NOT installed in their original format. But thank you for your effort to help me anyway.

If you update to Firefox 10 then Firefox should automatically pick all data from Firefox 3 versions and convert files if necessary.
That should include the bookmarks.

You can access the bookmarks via the orange Firefox button or the Bookmarks menu or make the Bookmarks Toolbar (View > Toolbars or Firefox > Options) or the Bookmarks sidebar visible (View > Sidebar) to have easier access to bookmarks.

Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.

I just went to the "help" in v. 3.6.19 an saw that I could update with that version. The updated version was 3.6.26. I downloaded that. I find now that my original Bookmarks format appeared ! I did NOT respond to the suggestion that I install v.10.
