I frequently connect to websites that are hosted by a service that will downgrade to a SSL2 when connection with SSL3/TLS connection cannot be established for one reason or another. In previous versions of Firefox I was able to enable SSL2 usage using the security.enable_ssl2 key however that key was carried over in the upgrade from version 8 to 9 of Firefox, but it appears I am no longer able to connect to these websites. Is it possible that key is being ignored now, when I reset the value to false it was completely removed from the about:config and recreating the record of course made no change to the outcome.
