Firefox freezes for a while, up to a few minutes with 100% CPU, when modifying the bookmarks library contents. Adding or deleting bookmarks, renaming, adding separators, etc. I think the problem begun when I updated to version 7. Currently running 7.0.1.

The problem has something to do with the amount of bookmarks (JSON backup of about 5.5 Mb) because it disappears if I delete a significant portion of them, but obviously that is not what I want to do.

I have no real-time sync of my bookmarks (only asked to sync when quitting) and I even tried to disable the corresponding extensions to make sure it had nothing to do with them.

Thanks for your reply.

I had already seen the periodic freezing problem link you posted, but I don't think it is exactly the same problem, though the solution may be shared.

I understand that the problem may be caused by the amount of bookmarks saved as History (about 55.000 in my case) and I should therefore run the Expire option that will erase the oldest records, shouldn't I?

If I do , which is the age threshold for history entries to be deleted?
