macafee disabled
Hi there, i just recently installed Firefox 5.0 but it disabled my Advanced system care and my Macafee site advisor. I need the site advisor so i can see which websites are safe. Is there anyway of resolving this? I looked for updates but there were none.I switched back to 3.6 and Mcafee is working again, i won't feel safe using 5.0 until this has been resolved as its disabling the two things that prevent me from getting viruses on my computer. I really like using Firefox so i hope you can help.
Regards,
Heather

Have your read some of the things that happen to Firefox with the extension and it's not just Firefox 5.0 that it messed up.
- Problematic extensions - MozillaZine Knowledge Base (McAfee Site Advisor is listed as problematic)
I like the reports but it just hasn't worked well in Firefox for me, with the possible of exception of a profile in which it was the only extension.
dmcritchie gave a summary of the latest situation in his reply to this thread
McAfee need to rewrite the plug-in and thoroughly test it, and that will take about 4 weeks. The rewrite must fix known (severe) compatibility problems, but is also intended to make it easier to update for future Firefox upgrades.
How do I get rid of Firefox 5.0 & go back to 4, which seemed just fine?
