Every start of Firefox 3.6.16 it locksup, later asks if I want to disable LABS, if I OK, it works.

update: Sorry, I now understand it is a Gmail problem, not a Firefox problem because it only happens when I try to open Gmail. I got confused.  :-( I recently installed Firefox 3.6.16 on my HP pavilion dv6000 PC running Windows 7 (recently installed). When I start up Firefox it locks up when the loading green line is about 90% done and sits there for a few minutes. It then states that it is taking longer than normal and asks if I want to disable LABS. When I allow Firefox to disable LABS, it works just fine. However this happens every time I start it up. Do I need LABS? Can I permanently disable LABS?

Thanks a lot helper7677, the links were great. They helped me to understand what was going on much better. However, the instructions to permanently disable Labs didn't work since I had never enabled any of the Gmail Lab options. I did find a solution, and that was to upgrade to Firefox 4.0 and now it works. I appreciate your help.

My problem turned out to be primarily a Gmail problem that only showed up in my Firefox. Helper7677 helped me quickly find info about my problem and potential solutions. I was then able to solve the problem by upgrading to Firefox 4.0 It was a great help because I didn't understand my problem.
