easy way to create a desktop item for anything
Google have an easy way to create a desktop icon. The suggested Mozilla method is hard. Splitting etc.
What is the way to do it using Windows 7 ? i am not talking of a Firefox icon but any web site.
My alternative is to use rotten Google.

The best way is; Open the link that you want. After the page is loaded, place the mouse on the address bar icon, hold down the left button, then move the mouse to where you want the shortcut. You can place it on your desktop or into any folder that you want using the file browser.
Note: This same instruction also works when using any browser and even the computer's file browser.
