PDF opens as code in Google Docs
When I try to open a PDF file from, for example, Blackboard, which is indispensable for my online classes, instead of opening a new tab to read the PDF, it opens a new Google Doc with code on it (attached as image).
It doesn't give me the option to open the file through any other app, either. This never happened to me before, and as far as I know it only happens on Blackboard (which I NEED).
Thank you to anyone who submits an answer.

This is not a PDF file, but an HTML file that redirect to the actual PDF file as you can see by the JavaScript document.location.replace code in the screenshot.
You will have to open this HTML file in a (new) tab or paste the https://cetys.blackboard.com URL in the location bar and to open the PDF file.
If this isn't working then you may have a content blocking extension interfering.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.
