I see that a signature appears only on SOME of my outgoing e-mails and I'm not sure where it came from as I don't remember adding a signature file and can't find one in Account Settings/Tools. I want to edit it and/or have it appears only when I want it to on some of my outgoing mail. Can someone help me to first find it in Thunderbird and then edit it?

right click the account in the folder pane. Select the account name in the account manager window that opens.

The signature may be simply entered in the dialog, or it may be a file. Either way you trail to locate it is in that dialog.

I have tried that but the signature that appears sometimes on my replies is not there so I don't know where it comes from. I followed your advice and put my signature file in there in the box and I'll see what happens. Thanks for your help. Do you know if there is a way to have a second signature file and toggle between them for which one I want to use on my e-mail replies?
