How/why is Firefox causing lag to simultaneously ran Java Platform game and a packet loss error with FFXIV?
64 bit Firefox with electrolysis and Hardware Acceleration on. Version: 54.0 Windows 10 Pro, $2k USD gaming desktop.
When playing FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14) with Firefox open, and connecting to dungeon servers, which are instanced, I'll receive error code 40002, which is related to packet loss somewhere along the data route. When Firefox is closed, I do not disconnect and do not receive that error in game.
Additionally, when playing a separate game (MMO - real-time playing with others) via Java (in task manager: "Java(TM) Plateform SE binary), the game lags consistently while Firefox remains open. When Firefox is closed, the lag stops. I'm writing this with Opera, with Hardware acceleration enabled, and I get no lag.
I utilized the "Refresh Firefox" option and still experience the same issues. Though I would like to get Firefox working properly, I'm now interested in why this is happening and what the cause could be. It seems like a peculiar issue that has peaked my interest.

Additionally, it seems to be related to an issue with Battlefield 1, where, if Firefox (x64) and Battlefield 1 are open, and I attempt to join a multiplayer server within Battlefield 1, Battlefield will "connect" endlessly.
When the wait chain is analyzed for Battlefield 1 via Task Manager, it returns "waiting for network i/o".
This has been tested multiple times, and while keeping Firefox closed, I have yet to experience the issue which was once so common in the past.

How much ram do you have as this old trick still works in Win10 MICROSOFT VIRTUAL MEMORY ( larger swap file ) You may want to try this: Open the System Folder then Click on left side Advanced System Settings which opens System Properties click the Advanced Tab then click Performance button Settings then the Advanced Tab then Click the Change under Virtual Memory click Custom Size and Change Size to where it says Recommended Size then Click Set and then Click Apply then please Re-boot.
System - -> Advanced System Settings --> System Properties - -> Advanced Tab - -> Change Virtual Memory - -> Custom Size - -> ENTER Recommended Size - -> Set - -> Apply-- > Reboot

I found this out 10mins after I updated my vid/sound drivers from proper source that Microsoft changed my Drivers. Can check in Device Manager. If running Win10 Home there is a registry hack to turn off Microsoft from updating your Drivers. So Will leave it at that and lets see if you have some improvement. Not finding anything up to date on Firefox + packet loss.
