The error message is approximately 'Update could not be applied. Check that another instance is not running and restart.' W10Pro 32bit running on W10Pro 32bit host. (If you do not understand why I might do this you may not be the best person to help.) Thunderbird updates behave the same way, perhaps not surprisingly. Running the installer stub for the latest version works eventually (multiple steps - partial update could not be applied, contacting update server etc etc) This would be acceptable if updates were not so frequent. Java, OpenH264 and WideVine are the only plugins actvated. SQLite Manager is the only extension enabled.
