Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove google Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
Google always shows that message to you if you've never seen it before. The site judges whether you've seen it before by saving a cookie when you click off the message and watching for that cookie. If you clear google.com cookies, then the message comes back.
Over the years, users have turned to add-ons to hide these and other annoying "in-page" messages. Extensions to do that include
- Adblock Plus, Element Hiding Helper (I haven't tried it myself): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/elemhidehelper/
- Remove it Permanently (I haven't tried it for this): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/remove-it-permanently/

I realize that's not a specific recipe, so someone could take a fresh look. What is the address of the page where you get the message?
Google used to be the global default search engine in Firefox. Ever since then they have been putting that message on google.com and its locales since when cookie is not set.
