Accidentally or after upgrade (I did not notice) I got bookmarks side bar at right part of FF window. Instead of default left side, where it was before.

How can I get bookmarks sidebar back to the left side? Where it is placed by default in other installations of FF.

Thank you.

P.S. I saw several answers about Ctrl+B. It is not the case. I can hide it and bring back. But I need it at left side instead of current location.

Please update to the most recent version of Firefox:

Second, you can open up the "+Customize" menu in the Firefox three horizontal bar button and click on "Restore Defaults", but will move other customization as well.

If that does not work it might be a theme or a hack you added to the current profile. In that case try a new profile: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles and Recovering important data from an old profile

Do you have BIDI issues otherwise or is only the side bar affected?

Does the same happen with the history sidebar?

Are you still using an en-US (left-to-right) Firefox version?

Try the version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution. You can find the full version of the current current Firefox release (39.0) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Hi!

Yes, I have the same with History sidebar (Ctrl+H) - it is at right side. /* I'm not using History at all and it is not critical. */ Is the issue mechanics same for both sidebars?

Is there a setting among list of advanced ones, which may reposition sidebars to left side?

I'm using latest Firefox from my operating system provider - Ubuntu. As I'm delegating care about automation of important updates to Ubuntu, I can try foreign and unsupported version from developers, but it will be reverted back anyway. Of course, I'll try it any way.

I'll try it when my work computer will be out of hard use.

Also, as it was requested I'll try 1 - to create empty profile, 2 - backup ~/.mozilla and create totally new set of settings.

I'll post about results.

/* I suspect it is really somewhere inside customizations, but where is it... But, what was pressed or else... At home I have same versions of everything, I have similar, but more tricky, setup and all the things are Ok. */

Thus, as I caught: main idea, currently, is to recreate wanted setup from scratch and go forward.

P.S. Oh. My current Firefox version is

$ apt-cache show firefox | egrep "^Version: " Version: 39.0+build5-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 Version: 28.0+build2-0ubuntu2

$ firefox -version

(process:3654): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed Mozilla Firefox 39.0

I'm investigating results of apt-cache show firefox | egrep "^Version: "
