Have been using Firefox for years. I have a new MacBook Pro, loaded with RAM. For some reason when as little as one tab is open the spinning pinwheel of death comes up rendering Firefox useless for about 2-3 minutes. It doesn't usually crash, and usually allows recovery but once this starts happening it happens frequently. Without a fix I'm going to have to switch to Chrome, which I really didn't want to have to do. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any ideas of what could be causing it?

Thanks techie heros.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).

You can try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
