I set up a thunderbird email account 4 years ago or so with help from my son and have never needed to login in before, now I do and I can't remember I.D. or password! Help please

Your email password is between you and your email provider. If you cannot remember what it is you need to work with your provider to reset it.
Most providers have a link to reset a forgotten password on their email help page.
