I have deleted and download and reinstalled java. All my java is up to date. I was trying to enter a chat room on a popular aquarium advice site and could not as FF wont let me run the toolkit. I have tried everything to fix this.

What do I need to do to make this addon work? And no, none of the solutions I could find on this site seems to help.

(And please- no urging to upgrade to Australis- it wont happen. I will switch to Palemoon before using Australis. I understand the risks and am willing to assume them.)

Hello TwoTankAmin, the Java deployment Toolkit is for developers and used by Java applications to help manage getting the right version of Java for a user’s system. Are you sure the problem is there ?

Do you have it Always Activate, in Add-ons Manager tab and the Java TM platform SE 7 U67 also? Determining if a plugin is the problem.

thank you

I do have the SE 7 U67 set to ask to activate as I do with most plugins. I have yet to meet a software product that did not think it should always be running :-)

But, as it turns out, I chose not to remain an active member on the site where this issue occurred, so I am much less concerned by it now. Plus, this is the only time this has happened over the years.

Btw, if you're interested in permanently removing the Java DT plugin (since it does nothing for normal users), you can follow this guide: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2877359
