Firefox keeps refreshing one certain website frantically.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

• right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
• Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

(If you can't open this dialog due to the site's behavior, you can open it on this site, then change the domain at the top from mozilla.org to the correct one.)

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I tried that and deleted the cookies manually but the webpage wont stop. its huffington post and when i go to read an article the page just refreshes and scrolls back to the top every 2 seconds. and non of my other tabs are going crazy, just this website and its been doing it a while

When you use HuffPost, do you log in? If so, try reading it logged out and see whether that makes any difference.

Like other sites in the AOL network, HuffPost seems sensitive to proxy settings. If you use a private VPN or TOR, this could create issues for the site.

Also, if you block third party cookies, this might be an issue for the site. This article has more on those settings: Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them.

no ive never logged in usually i just click an article from yahoo takes me there, or if i bring up the page stand alone it does the same thing, but only with this browser.

ok your comment made me think what it could be...i signed out of facebook and it stopped. there ya go

any way to get this to stop and keep logged in facebook?

In order to isolate a site from your Facebook account, you could split your session between regular windows (with Facebook) and private windows (won't see your FB cookies).

To open a new private window, either:

• Ctrl+Shift+p
• orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > New Private Window

Then try HuffPost in the private window.
