Why does my home page goes to Yahoo when I start my computer even though I have put www.google.com.au in the Firefox Preferences/General/Homepage section?

I use OSX 10.8.4. I set my Preferences/General/Homepage section to www.google.com.au and every time I turn my computer back on it automatically reverts back to the Yahoo home page. Can any one tell me how to fix this issue pls?
