I am using Firefox but haven't unistalled IE8 , are these browers compatable and/or do I need unitstall IE8?

I hate IE8 and decided to use Firefox again, however I haven't uninstalled IE8 because I don't wanna lose it if I decide to go back at a future date. Does anyone know if IE8 and Firefox are compatible? Can I get IE8 free if I decide to delete it? Will I lose any unsaved history or information ?

You don't need to uninstall IE8 to use Firefox, you can even use them at the same time if you wish.
