Why did my bookmarks double? I have two copies of my bookmarks.

This morning I have two copies of my bookmarks. Why did they double? I set my computer to an earlier time and they are still there, doubled, one list on top of the other. I deleted one bookmark and it took it off both sets. What happened?

Sounds like a problem with the places.sqlite database. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite
