"Tons" of cookies after recent update
OK so, I just updated Firefox to 115.34 Oesr (64-bit) on my Windows 7 Desktop. Before this update, it's been my practice to clear my cookies manually from unknown websites about 3 times a day, only keeping the "exception" cookies. But, since the update, there have been SOOO many cookies...something like 75 to 100 and EACH time I manually clear the cookies...even just minutes after I clear it and refresh the "Settings" page they appear again. And, the worst of it is that Google won't let me sign into Google websites like Play Store and Google.com search saying that "there has been unusual traffic..." and makes me solve capchas all day long. Other sites too say Unusual traffic like CVS and won't let me sign in either. And now, I'm not using a VPN.
I googled the matter and it was said to be was a known issue with the 115 update and the A.I. said to get rid of the ad blocker as a possible fix but, it didn't work. Have Firefox clear cache and cookies but that didn't work, changing "Tracking Protection" to "Standard". Nothing works. Is there an update fixing this issue? By the way, I have had Firefox set to clear cache and cookies upon closing. But the cookies pile up so quickly again. Thanks for your help

P.S. It's me again. I meant to type "NO, I'm not using a VPN" not "NOW, I'm not using a VPN. I always type "NOW" when I mean "NO". Don't know why. Anyhow...
OK then. My next question is, can I go back to the previous version of Firefox browser. I now have 115.34 Oesr (64-bit).
Heh heh heh. Another response from ME. I forgot to mention that the cookie setting in "Enhanced tracking protection" is "Custom" and this setting is and HAS been all to block : "cross-site tracker cookies and isolate other cross site cookies".
There are content blocking extensions that maintain a list of so-called optout cookies and that is what you may see.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock,NoScript,DuckDuckGo PE,Disconnect,Ghostery,uBlock Origin,Malwarebytes), always make sure such extensions do not block content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection and Total Cookie Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like about blocked content.
Unfortunately none of these apply but thanks for taking the time for all of that. And, as an update, this matter has now resulted in me not being able to sign into my bank just now without going through all sorts of steps to prove my identity. Even after clearing my cache and cookies once AGAIN, I still get these security checks from CVS and now Chase and google keeps requiring me to solve capchas reporting "Unusual activity". Can I at least go back to the previous Firefox 115 0esr version before the 115.34 update?
It's me again. After much searching I found the previous version and I downgraded to it (115.33 0esr) yesterday but, no dice. Still the same TON of cookies in "Manage Cookies". I counted them just now on my SECOND manual delete of the day and there were 140 cookies! I hardly went anywhere in my browsing since the last manual delete a few hours ago. And this happened after changing my security setting to "strict". What is happening?
For what websites are those cookie? Have you ever visited those pages? There is also security (AV) software that can add such opt-out cookies.
Thanks for replying. No. Never visited those sites. There are none of them there now as I just cleared my cache so, I'll have to answer later on that question about the website cookies. Wait, I just looked and "THERE BACK!!!" heh. Here are a few: pubmatic.com, scorecardresearch.com, a-mx.com, liftdsp.com, yieldmo.com, mathtag.com, rubiconproject.com, 1rx.io, fwmrm.net, 3lift.com, adsrvr.org, iqzone.com, id5-sync.com, simpli.fi, mgid.com ...and the list goes on.
