I simply want to use a password to open Firefox. I don't want to set up Firefox sync. How can I set up a simple password as permission to open Firefox without accessing sync?

Chosen solution

That won't work, you can simply cancel a Primary Password dialog to continue if that is what you are talking about. The PP is only used to encrypt the logins stored in the Password Manager.

If you are worried about others that use your computer, then you need to create a Windows guest account for them and protect your own Windows user account with a password.
