All of a sudden my comcast.net email is no longer accessible through Thunderbird,it claims I'm not using the correct password, even though none of the settings have changed. I can still access my email through webmail, using the same password. What's happened? and how can it be corrected thank you

I deleted an old email address for a friend, but every time I email her, the auto-complete feature includes both the current email address and the one for her old job. I've deleted that one, and it doesn't seem to show up in the Address Book anywhere, so why does it keep coming up in the auto-complete?
It's annoying to me and to the place of employment to have the emails go to the wrong address when I'm not watching very carefully.
How can I make sure this doesn't happen again?

I have the latest Thunderbird update. Since yesterday, using imap.comcast.net, I have been getting the error "Login to server imap.comcast.net with username [removed] failed." It wants me to retry or enter a new password. I cannot get emails. I can, however, log into my Comcast email account online and see emails delivered. Thunderbird, of course, will not receive these emails.
For imap.comcast.net, port is 993, connection security is SSL/TLS, and authentication method is normal password. I have not changed any of these settings. I have not changed my password. I have done nothing to cause the problem.
I cannot find a solution online. Could someone help? Thank you!

I recently purchased a new computer. Installed Thunderbird, created all the mail accounts I have and... no problems. All the accounts, once created, populated with emails. For 3-4 days, there were no issues.
Important to note: I let TB use all the default settings. And once everything was up and running >>>>I did not change anything<<<<<.
Then a few days later, I started getting the following messages for two accounts that had migrated from q.com to myctl.net. Entering the 100% proven-correct password results in the know endless-loop of entering the password and the same pop-up error message. The PW is 100% correct as I can go to Centurylinks' website and login using that same, exact password and read my emails.
I've spent enough time trying all the suggestions here, reddit, facebook etc so I'd thought I'd see if anyone has actually found a solution.

This problem only occurs on my computer running Windows 11. There are no problems on my mobile phone.

Hi, The goal is download attachments from a RSS feed. I set a specific folder so i don't have to select path for every single file. Then clicking on the file link and it should start to download but it is very unreliable especially when used on many files in sequence it silently fails. Related big problem is absence on any useful file transfer indicator like Firefox has. There is a "download manager" tab but it is completely useless. It does not show any progress and the view has no scroll bar so nothing useful can actually be seen there. Downloading using "save as" button works. So you should either fix the direct link download or disable the feature completely until it does work, to avid missing files, because that is the worst outcome.

hi all. if i create a new blank Task it automatically pre-selects today's date as the start date, and if i create a Task from an email it sets the date the email was received as the start date. i know can filter tasks lists, and hide columns, but the real issue is how it looks on the calendar; with the fixed start date, setting a due date in a month's time results in a fixed, ongoing task for a month. is there any plugin or setting that will just stop TB setting a start date that i can't change, or letting me explicitly set it myself?

Unfortunately, for some time now, the "Recent Destinations" list remains very small and most folders, regardless of how recently I moved messages to them, do not show up on the list.
I have tried quitting TB, deleting folderCache.json, but that makes no difference. The list stays the same, and it does not get updated for most folders.
Maybe that approach is no longer a panacea :-) and there is some other way to fix this?

Hi. Since the Thunderbird update in March/2026, my Bell sympatico.ca email is no longer able to send emails out through Thunderbird. No error messages but emails never get to destination (I tried sending to myself on both gmail and sympatico accounts). I receive emails without issue. I tested the sympatico from the web or my iPhone and it works. Seems something changed in T-bird back in March?
I validated the Outgoing SMTP server settings and all seems OK (See attached file for screenshot of settings). Any idea why and what changed to cause this?

Suddenly, I can no longer send emails anywhere. I can still receive emails. I use KDDI, and I contacted them, but they said there are no issues with their servers. I can send emails using webmail. It seems to be an issue with Thunderbird. The message shown in the attachment appears, and I get an error. Please let me know how to fix this.
