How do I set my open new tab (+) so that it opens up a blank page?
Every time i click on open new tab (+), i want it to open a blank page instead of a specific website.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
