tried to verify my email account with Foxfire but error message states that I must update my Internet explorer browser. I don't use IE but can't get rid of it?

First, you do not need to remove IE. Windows allows various programs to use components of IE, so removing it may well break things unexpectedly.

Second, the Firefox you used to post this thread look up-to-date to me. Did you try to verify your account in Firefox? If you are clicking a link and Windows is launching IE automatically, try copying the address from the address bar in IE into a new tab in Firefox and press Enter to load the page in Firefox.

When I click on VERIFY to verify my account in Firefox, I receive a message that states " you are using an outdated browser. please [update your browser] to improve your experience" When I click on the hyper link :UPDATE YOUR BROWSER" It navigates me to a website http://browsehappy.com/. I have deselected IE from my windows features in my control panel and there is no sign of any IE in my control panel - programs & features. IE is like a pit bull. It just doesn't want to let go of my system (windows 7). Is there any work around or fix for this problem? Thanks, Bob W

Where did you download Firefox from? You should download it only from mozilla.org/firefox

If you downloaded Firefox from another site, uninstall it.

Consider doing a full virus-scan.

Not sure what you mean by "verify". Do you want to check your inbox? Which email service is it anyway? Gmail? Yahoo? Outlook?
