There seems to be a glitch that I keep encountering when trying to sign in through my TV provider, particularly Verizon, to watch DisneyNOW or TCM or any other service for that matter. The website known as "ssoauth.verizon.com" seems to keep hanging on the message "Please wait - we are verifying your account," and the sign in never gets completed. I already tried clearing my cache and history but with no result.

Even trying to submit troubleshooting information is causing the form to crash here. If you would like, I can send you a text file containing the log I saved from the browser console.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. Here are some standard troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue:

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon in the left part of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it.
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache.
  3. If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
  5. If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.

Does any of the above help? Looking forward to your update on how it goes!

I'm afraid none of what you suggested helps. I even got a log from the browser console when it happened. Problem is, if I try to paste that information on here, this website's going to give me a 406 error. If you'd like, I can somehow send the text file as an attachment instead. Thanks again.

Does this issue persist for you in other browsers?

No, it does not persist in other browsers. I tried it with Edge and it works. However, I find it inconvenient to have to launch another browser like Edge just to log in with Verizon FiOS and watch whatever I want.

Well, then it sounds as a compatibility bug. Could you please report it on WebCompat, our dedicated place for such type of issues? Mozilla's QA staff members there will try to reproduce the issue, and if they succeed, file an issue and pass it to Firefox developers.

If you want, you can also share a link to your report here. That way even if you choose to report without a GitHub account, I'll inform you about updates here.

I have the same issue with TCM.com., re: the eternal verification message. I can use any other browser. I've done all the steps of clearing the history. I've spoken to both TCM and my cable provider and the problem seems to be Firefox.
