I was enjoying a nice evening on the web - then - add ons appeared - -**********NOW I have lost all my book marks -the outer surround page -has gone grey ? *************** I say the book marks have vanished - can they be restored -or whats happened - I stored loads of pages -lost for words

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
