Prevent startpage.com
If I type a URL incorrectly I https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?q=doh&cat=web&language=english displays. How can I eliminate this and just get notification that the address cannot be found?

Also, note that StartPage appears to be your default search engine (which is not Firefox's default). If you want to remove it completely, please see the corresponding section of this article.

Thank you. I reset my default searh engine to DuckDuckGo. I have no idea how I changed it to StartPage, a site I never heard of. Anyway, problem solved.
