Fonts and Hamburger Menu, macOS Sequoia and Monterey

Two issues: 1) Hamburger Menu inoperable on both macOS Sequoia and Monterey. This is true on both iMac and 15" Air. When clicked, the hamburger menu produces a square with a small blue X inside (not clickable).

2) The font size on incoming mail is in what looks like 2-point type. Unreadable by me. Using View -> Font Size -> Increase does not fix. On macOS Monterey, but the font size is OK.

I'm hoping to retain Thunderbird as email app, so I would truly appreciate any help or ideas. This is not a system-wide problem. I have included a couple of screenshots.

Do the same issues appear if you start TB in "Troubleshoot Mode"? Hold the Alt (Option) key and launch TB https://mzl.la/3AbU5jz

Your first screenshot looks normal to me. You clicked on the hamburger menu and you see a list of options. One of them is density settings. That blue square indicates the most dense setting. Clicking on it when it is already selected is not supposed to do anything. You can click on the other density settings to change density.

What about this situation seems wrong to you?

View -> Font Size lets you adjust user interface elements, not message text. The first place I would check is Thunderbird Settings - General - Language & Appearance. Under "Advanced", set fonts and sizes to be what you want for both Latin and other writing systems. Set the minimum font size to be something readable.

Does that help?
